What if I place APM 4 inches right of CG?

So I have a new build that I'm constructing, It's a right winged Z2 flying wing.

I was thinking about placing my apm in one of the side walls just right of the battery compartment. This would be about 4 inches right of where the CG would be. Will this cause serious issues in my plane if lets say I'm using stabilization and such?

I'd like to keep the battery bay empty for just batteries.

  • So when you say not ideal like what are the issues that will arise?
    • It's really more of an issue for copter than plane. When you are in a bank with the APM laterally offset it mixes in some z accelerometer deviation. So it sees some vertical displacement along with roll. This can make alt hold a bit less accurate during loiter in a copter. It shouldn't be noticeable on a plane.
  • It might not be ideal, but it will work fine.
