So far I'm going to say the Phantom 4.

  • Wow, hard question to answer... almost like asking which car is the best in 2016?

    First, what is the application?

(real estate photography, GIS mapping, racing, sports photography, etc.)

Second, what is the budget/price range?

Third, do you consider open-source or closed, both hardware and firmware, important?

Also, would you like the ability to modify or reprogram the craft or is off-the-shelf what you are looking for?

The answers will differ depending these and other factors.

Like I say, difficult to answer your question.

  • We’re not even through the first month of 2016.. hard to say what the best drone is/will be. Come back and ask in 10-11 months.
