I'm kind of new to the idea of Baromic altitude measurement and want something that is simple to use! What sensor should I go for a low altitude (quad copter) sensor or am I better off using a 0.1 - 6m sonar?

I have reviewed the situation and It would seem that an Ultrasonic Sensor would be best as it is a quad copter s I only want to fly a few metres from the ground and a pressure sensor would be too complicated and a laser range finder too expensive/heavy/ complicated.
Ultrasonic sensors sometimes give flaky results over scattering surfaces like grass, so you might be better off with something else. Maybe a laser range finder?
