Which sonar for altitude hold?

In the store, there are four different types of sonar, from wide to narrow beam. I wonder to what applications use different sonar? What is the narrow beam good for and what is wide beam good for? Is it that narrow beam has a longer range but is less sensitive?

Anyway, which of them is best for altitude hold?
