Why does Accelerometer motion in one direction gives the impact on other direction?

Dear all,
I am using MPU6050 Accelerometer-Gyroscope module to fetch the motion along the axis of the direction. When i am moving the accelerometer in X direction, i am getting the values like 5K along the X axis but simultaneously, around 1.5K along Y axis (which is not a negligible value). May i know the reason for the same?

Also, if i want to track the motion along the particular direction using accelerometer, which could be the other best suitable method, if any?
