Would it be possible to build a drone that could scan for wifi hotspots using the Arduino WiFi Shield? If the R/C electronics on the drone are 2.4Ghz will that cause interference and render the WiFi shield unusable?

I have done testing like this for penetration work in ITSEC. It will interfere and what we did was move to an LRS setup to avoid it getting off of 2.4ghz. We also did tests on 53mhz for the radio and that worked fine. In the end we went with a standard android implementation with standard wifi scanners tools onboard. More efficient, better software and more robust then arduino could provide.
