Modern aircraft using Flight Management Systems (FMS) as well as general aviation aircraft using GPS navigation have wind readouts providing actual wind direction and velocity from the aircraft. We are trying to get this data for flight tracking and flight planning. Essentially, we need to compare actual wind values against our forecast winds to ensure we have energy/battery to complete the mission. It seems all the elements are within Pixhawk and Mission Planner we just need direction on how to do this. Any thoughts?
