Hey! I am looking to build a Quadcopter, but live an a fairly windy area. Anyone know what sorta wind speeds it can handle? My concern isn't steady winds, but an occasional gust... Is the + or x configuration better for wind? Any thoughts? Help?

Hello Will,
I have flown the ArduCopter in winds of about 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, it can be a little hard to control, so if you are happy with a little excitement in your flights...... :).
However it was fine with the power it could put out to flight into the wind, I have never used the x configuration just the +.
My quad is running the stock 850Kv motors and 10" props. There is a video here where the winds were a little lower when one of my customers and I were out testing our copters, the conditions were far from idea!
I hope this help you also.
Regards
Martin.

im new here too... but i think i can give you an answer:
it all depends on the design you use, and im not sure but i dont think x or + will make much of a difference. i would think a heavier and more powerful quad would do better. good sensors would probably help too
