Windows XP and Mission planner

I run Windows XP with Service pack 3 on my Desktop and it seems i can only run MP 1.2.38 and all current versions afterwards will not run on my PC.

The MP 1.2.40 and 1.2.41 both newer versions of the MissionPlanner require Microsoft .NET framework 4.0 or 4.5 which are NOT compatible with windows XP

What do i do? is there a way to allow the 1.2.41 to run on Windows XP?

please download and install .net 4.0
