Wireless live video transmission

Hello, I would like to know everything I need to have an onboard video camera that transmits the video live down to a laptop or some sort of screen on the ground while the plane is flying. I am assuming I need the ramsi osd and then any kind of camera? What are my best options? Keep in mind that my xbees are 900mhz and my rc gear is 2.4GHz

  • you could go with 1.3 ghz video TX and RX and you only need the OSD if you want telemetry or other data put on to your screen. Camera would be your choice depeding on what you want to record. Range video sells the TX RX as well as many others, though you need a ham license to legally operate these.

Also I have heard that there are no issues running 2.4 XBees with 2.4 futaba 7c's if your using that. Also I have heard a few have success running 900 XBee's as well as running 900 vid TX's. It was just about getting the XBees on and conected first then the video. I personally went with 1.3 but not from range video there are plenty of places to find the gear if you are like me and dont want to use them.

Hope that helps you out some.
