Wrong Length Pin Headers

I just recieved a new Mega and IMU from Cool Components in the UK.  I was just going to solder the headers on when I noticed the male and female headers that came with my kit do not press together fully by about 5mm.  If I force them together the pins start pushing through the plastic.

The supplier in the UK (Cool Components) said all the header parts they use come from their supplier with the IMU's (I am assuming they mean DIYDrones).  Am I being stupid here or should the male and female headers fit together easily without a gap?  I can't remember having this problem with the last APM and IMU I soldered a few months ago.

There is no way I can see them being correct the female sockets would either almost fall out or I would have long pins out the back of the Mega.

Anyway I ordered a new set of headers from the new store in the UK instead seeing as cool components dont't seem to be interested in helping (last time I use them!!) but I just wanted to check if this was correct or not.

Thanks,

Mark
