Xbee 900 mHzTelemetry Problems

Newbie here...

Im using the ArdupilotMega1 and a 900 mHz Xbee telemetry on a fixed wing craft and I need to figure out whats wrong with my telemetry. I bought the DIY drones one and it worked at first but then the two modems stopped communicating ...I have been trying to trouble shoot the problem using X-CTU. I Tested both the ground modem and the modem that is linked to the APM using the interface board that plug's in via USB to my laptop and when I set the baud rate to 9600 X-CTU says both modems are OK. Despite this I still can't connect to mavlink. I would like to be certain what the problem is before I just go out and buy a new Xbee(or a different telemetry all together).

Any advice is greatly appreciated..

    @Roman,

    After using the X-CTU IDE to verify operation of the Xbees, did you set the baud rates back to 57.6k so that they will work with the MP? I am using both the Xbee 900MHz modules and the 3DR 915MHz modules with the MP and have had no problems.

    Just a thought.
