Xbee 868 simple range test fails

I bought 2 Xbee 868 PRO. I know they have the duty cycle problem.But I just want to try a simple range test.I connected in loopback one one module (let call it A) and the other one (let call it B) is connected to the PC.If I start a range test I can see the RSSI led on A but the RSSI led on B is off.Why? It seems that I cannot do two-way communication??Regards

Have you set the xbees up using X-CTU to be able to talk to each other or did they come pre- configured?

Usually the highest order board is the RSSI led lit. (ie only one of the two will have it lit, even in bidirectional communications)

Do you have an APM board by chance? if you do, you can utilize the xbee cli test as well.
