XYZ senzor on Ardu Pilot Mega required for stab?

Hallo, i'm in state to decide between ArduPilot Mega and ArduPilot. Ardupilot has in optional accesories XY and Z senzors whereas ArduPilot Mega don't. Does it mean that ArduPilot Mega uses for stabilization flight mode something else or it can be stabilized by these sensors too?
I'm asking because stabilization is one of the most required point on AP that i must have, besides navigation through waypoints and i incline to Arduino MEGA + ArduPilot Mega IMU Shield/OilPan Rev-H V1.0 but still not sure about the stabilization technique.

    No you won't need XYZ the IMU, Inertial Measurement Unit and some clever sums will sort out the stabilization for you.

    Have a re-read through the site and fully understand how the system works before your order. Otherwise you might order parts you don't need.
