1. How do they tell if the crop is suffering from lack of nitrogen rather than some other form of stress like moisture etc.? I thought the NVDI just told you which parts of the crop we struggling?
2. How would a farmer set this up the DIY way? Is it possible feasible?
Would I
1. acquire plane with APM
2. Attach camera with modification for infrared. Although I see some people use 2 cameras. 1 modified and one not. Why is this?
3. Take images and use some sort of software to stitch the photos.
4. Process the photos to give a map of nitrogen lacking areas
5. Take data and plug in to spreader GPS so that it puts more urea out in the areas that need it.
I'm interested to hear from people who are doing this.
Well i don't know much but i will answer with the information i have gather.
The nitrogen question: I have search an some results are that spectrum of a plant who is lacking nitrogen will represent a spectrum different in result of how the light "bounces" from the surface.
The two cameras well i'm still working on this, but from i've gather one camera is the camera using "infragram" ( to make it easier and not having to convert the images) And the second for FPV (to avoid any bird or UFO(unknow flying object) when gathering the images)
The part for a farmer to operate, well the farmer will have to be capable to use UAS (like the self-driving tractor) to families themselves quick with the system or a just add a technician to work all the advance electronic in the farms like they do on big companies.
Well, hope i could help.
YOPH Ps: I'm researching the something but i'm using a multicopter; because the farm i will be doing the "mapping" or analysis is really difficult for a plane.
