In answer to the post from Drone-University.

What range should the UAV detect the sound?

Does the thrird party making the sound have any connection with the UAV operator, such as pre flight briefing, or are they carrying an kind of communication equipement?

In a life saving scenario, such as mountain or sea, life jackets have a standard whistle, many hill walkers and mountainers also use this type of whistle, so it might be possible to tune the UAV to respond to this sound?
