The Role:
You & your team will design and build a rock-solid cloud platform from nothing to manage, monitor, and deploy all 3D Robotics products built by our incredible engineering team. If you have ever wanted to build a cloud stack from scratch and know exactly how you would do it, this position is for you!
We do not have any devops engineers right now, so you will be in charge of platform decisions as well as eventually building out a devops team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all parts of our external infrastructure, from design and planning to first response when things break.
- Works closely with our engineering team to design and manage the build systems, continuous testing and deployment stack.
Requirements:
- Expert level Amazon Web Services experience (EC2, VPC, RDS, S3, CloudFront, OpsWorks, IAM)
- Expert Networking experience (subnets, routing, VPN, Amazon Security Groups)
- Experience with continuous testing and deployment (ex: Travis & Jenkins)
- Familiarity with automation tools (ex: Ansible, Salt, or equivalent)
- Able to troubleshoot Linux systems
- Experience finding, learning and deploying new tools and technology from scratch
- Expert programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, Javascript, Go, or C
- Excellent communication skills
Bonus Points:
- Knowledge of monitoring & alerting tools (ex: nagios or equivalent)
- Familiarity with containerization (ex: Docker, Vagrant)
- Experience integrating with hardware
- Owns a drone
