Longer range antenna for 3DR Iris+

Has anyone figured out how to get more range out of the 3DR Iris+?  Is there something I can do to the receiver side to improve range?  I have a 2.4GHZ antenna on my transmitter that is 10 DBi but I cannot get further than 100 yards.  Any suggestions
