About Me:

I have just about finished building the airframe of an 85" wing span Cessna 182 6 channel rc plane I would love to adapt to partial autonomous flight. After recruiting the willing help of Matt Hobson at Spokane Hobby Town.in Spokane, Washington to research the best radio/servo package, engine, and electronics for it I am well on my way to completion. Matt chose a new Futaba 7 channel radio system that is not quite available yet but the engine he picked came in just days after ordering. Matt chose the Zenoah G206PU-ei 26cc gas engine for the power plant. The new model Zenoah engine has a new electronic ignition which should keep the engine running at peak performance at any rpm. My goal is to make the plane as autonomous as possible using products available to the private and commerciol UAV market. After getting the plane airborn we would like to be able to switch over to a pre-programmed flight for video ground monitoing. After researching the capabilities of the engine compared to the size and projected weight of the craft I will have plenty of lead way for the extra weight of the computer electronics and small video camera and power supplies. I would gladly love to hear from anyone who has any experience with autonimous flight and it's products and has any advice at all for us.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
