About Me:

I'm a Carnegie Mellon Mechanical Engineer, class of 2013. I have a private pilot's license and have been flying model airplanes since I was 9. I've done a little pattern (aerobatics) competition, but I've since retired from most flying since I'm away at school. While I'm away from home I have made myself a part of the Robotics Club at CMU, and am currently working at the Robotics Institute as an undergraduate mechanical designer at CMU. I post a lot of information about current projects on my site: www.mikeornstein.com Updates specifically about my quadrotor project can be found at www.CMUQuadrotor.com

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

I love everything that flies. I especially love flying robots. One of my goals while I'm at school is to develop an excellent, innovative, and cost effective quadrotor type helicopter.

"I too am interested in using the iPhone4 as a central component for a UAV platform. If it is possible to interface the iPhone with four speed controllers, and the sensor data is decent, I feel like you can't go with such a capable device. Are there…"
