I am in no position to comment on the feasibility of this particular design, but just wanted to point out that this company is legit and are the ones who made the quad that won the endurance contest by staying aloft for (if my memory serves me correctly) nearly an hour on a charge! Keep in mind that this was purposefully built to extend flight time and, as such, carried no payload aside from larger than average capacity batteries. that being said, fwiw I recently had some in-depth conversations regarding current trends in this domain, resulting in my being completely amazed with their promptness in responding to my messages as well as the thoroughness of addressing all of the points I raised. So, while there may be peculiarities in their proposed design shown here, I definitely would not dismiss this company's ideas as rubbish... (maybe just this one??) :-)
Another Solidworks video about how can we render useless but good look things. Did you see the GPS disc insite? I guess the designer thinking the drone gps antennas looks like mapping gps rings. And this is why they need ring type GPS antenna and a big dome on top??? Somebody must be enlighten him why big drones have domes.
On a less serious note... Teargas is completely unnecessary here. the sight of this flying shopping cart is enough to make anyone cry.
I wouldn't get too excited about this particular "innovation". Concepts like this get invented around the clock by anyone with a bit of fantasy, just check out some police conventions. The reality is that they are horrible to control and horribly expensive for any practical use in the field (where there is stress and potential need to move quickly). I think the only true application for quads is surveillance and local "eye-in-the-sky" when you forgot to bring your telescope pole.
I don't think any police force is going to send in a multirotor of $5,000 upwards to quell an uprising of stone throwers, especially since you do need to move within range.
I saqw tear-gas canister under that thing. Forgive me for perhaps being over-sensitive, but I live in the Bay Area where the cops have a tendency to shoot people in the face with tear-gas.
As UAVs get more police-friendly you will start seeing a lot of postings advertising police-style drones here and they WILL be weaponized, or touted as suitable for weaponization, as the authors of this video did.
I would consider that a violation of the site's rules about weaponization. It's going to get harder and harder to draw that line. I for one find the idea of a tear-gas armed drone absolutely appalling and disgusting.

That is sick looking. But the day police departments buy drones to patrol the streets is the same day I am buying a shotgun.

Great video, but as everyone has said unpractical. My favourite part was the "Anti-Collision" system that would probably drive itself through a tree.
+1 on reminder about policy.

Tear-Gas? Really?

This introduces 12 points of failure. The shopping cart wheels look terrible under it.
Magic and or alien technology, it will be big in the future trust me.
Joking aside I wish I could produce such renderings, mine are hopeless!
