    If your motor is 160C you have bigger problems then the plastic melting..

  • @Thomas, I'm not sure that I agree. Although I have zero experience with gimbals I have a ton on brushless motors and after a flight they aren't too warm. Now granted this is with substantial airflow, I don't think the plastic will cause too much problem. Also 3D printed plastic is fairly ridged and I think considering the fact that the parts used in the gimbal are rather small and short. I think it will be plenty strong. Anyway, I could be wrong on the heat thing.
  • Sorry for a gimbal newbie question but wouldn't it be better to put the gopro lens in line with the rollmotor axis?

  • They are rewound to increase the resistance over the phases, resulting in a very fine control. They are still three phase.

  • Do these things use standard 3-phase brushless motors or are they wound as single-phase LAT's  (Limited Angle Torque motor)?
