UAV as "drug mule"?

Post by Ian Powell noted without comment (edited for clarity): "Two people emailed be about building them a UAV to travel large distances. After making some enquiries, I determined they wanted: 10kg carrying capacity speed 100km per hour distance 3000 km a drug mule uav!!!!!!!!!!!! It seems to me that this website has sparked an interest from the wrong people just as the diy mini sub is been regulated by the gov because of the same problem."

  • I know this is an old thread, but I have been trying to find an arduino based submarine, but I have had very limited success. How has the government had a hand in this?
  • looks like were gonna need more accurate weapons now even if you did find it it would be difficult to shoot!!! maybe we should build an anti drug mule uav!!! with... nevermind i dont want to make another "terrorist like comment"
  • the company and person is known to be a suspect company involded in this and other vices.
Also the intended useage did not figure
  • Did they say it was for a drug mule or is that speculation?

  • OK ... I had a rush of blood to the head and brought politics here ... my apologies.

Let's step back and look at the positives ... more sales volume might bring us cheaper parts ... :-)
  • remind me again why there is a huge profit in drugs ...

and whose government profited from drugs to fund an illegal war ...

and then, for extra credit, explain why prohibition of alcohol failed, but prohibition of other drugs will succeed ...

technology (including cheaper higher technology mules) is not the problem here.
  • As temping as $20 000.00 a trip is,this is real.
this industry generates large amounts of profit and has suffered a lot of "shipment busts"
new transport methods are devised every day.
i was not slagging your website when i said "that the wrong people vist it" i was just commenting on how all good things get attacked because of profit.
The problem is there is allways someone who will be tempted by cash.

a new line of technical thoughts and diyers on how to detect uavs.
