uBlox 5 is an enabling technology as far as navigation is concerned. We're going to see amazing things in cheap autonomous rotorcraft because of it. Optical flow may actually be knocked out by uBlox5 & the former complexity required to damp velocities is gone.Have 2 videos of the uBlox 5 controlling position in the wind. This is of course, totally electronic stabilization without flybar.
The Procerus module is plug & play. Unfortunately it's still a one of a kind sample. The reason we probably won't see any other modules is it's a very expensive receiver compared to the Chinese stuff & not many people currently have enough working capital to do a 1000 unit run.
The receiver is very trivial to integrate in a module. An unamplified antenna need only be soldered to ANT IN & the serial lines can be directly connected. It does not need shielding.
uBlox charges $50 for shipping & a single run PCB board for mounting it could put this over $200 for a DIY module.
Can you give us any advice in integrating a uBlox5 chipset? I think you mentioned that the only module available is from Procerus, and will be expensive. Where did you get yours?
Do you think this will soon be plug-and-play, like the EM406 we already use?

It seems that the individual modules are currently sold out, but the eval kit is available -
