So much for the iPhone Autopilot

Engadget points out that the iPhone developer SDK terms of service ban the use of it for "autonomous control of vehicles, aircraft...".

No worries--we're focused on Windows Mobile, Symbian, and maybe Android. But apparently the Apple TOS is copied from the Google Maps TOS. Hope that particular prohibition doesn't spread!

No consumer gadget would ever be condoned in aircraft guidance by the seller. That's why it's DIY.

The TOS is actually standard NAVTEQ and TeleAtlas language from their licenses.
