Inspired by the recently announced APM carrier for the Bixler, I made my own carrier for the Hawk Sky. Build notes and more photos here:

Nice. I had something similar on my mod http://diydrones.com/profiles/blog/show?id=705844%3ABlogPost%3A324753
Measured the weight... 13.3g.
Thanks Stefan... I see a lot of FPV setups also mount the transmitter as you describe. I'll try it out and let you know how it goes. I've also had some xbee interference issues: http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/xbee-causing-odd-servo-jitter-in-apm
But still its a nice mod :-) And it probably weights less than the cf carrier.
I had my xbee mounted just like that on my carrier and the airspeed sensor went nuts. Readings jumped up and down. I have now mounted the xbee just in front of the rudder with cable running along the fuselage.
