  • Thanks for your help Bill, I finally was successful in saving a workable file. Thanks for all the work on APM Planner, it's the best GCS I have used.

They are only text files, but you should right click (or control click) and select 'download file as' so they are downloaded without changing the contents.

Here is the link, I have pulled firmware from here several times but for the last month or so--no love.  The first time this happened Pavel from Zubax sent me a fix for UAVCAN and the new GNSS2.  He sent me three different files before I got one that AP2 recognized and could upload.  The first two came across as text files even though they had the .px4 file type.  I'm seeing the same thing at work on a PC.

can you post me the link you are using? more info is always better. I always 'roll my own' for custom FW, so it's not something i download.

  • Thanks for the quick response Bill, this may not be the right group for my situation and I don't think I explained it very well. AP2 works just fine but if I try to download a firmware file from the DIY Drones site in order to use a particular custom build the file downloads as an HTML instead of a file that AP2 can use for upload. This has never been an issue previously but for the last month or so it persists.

@randy we do support from APM Planner 20 here

I'm not a 100% sure what you problem is I have just tested the AP2.0.20 and it seems to be working as expected

  • Firmware download issues.  I am unable to download firmware from the DIY Drones download site.  APM Planner downloads but all firmware comes as what think is an HTML file, an unbroken long page of text.  This opens directly as a web page and not a downloaded firmware file.  Firmware loads from APM Planner work but have not been successful with custom firmware.

  • Raspberry Pi 2/3 package for Ubuntu 15.10 @

  • @Bill PPA is an interesting proposal:

    For Ubuntu:

What are ppas and how do i use them?

How do I create a PPA?

So who's in charge of the Launchpad account? :)

You can try and install the deb file from and see if it works. Or just install Qt and build it on the Pi.  The trusty 14.04 deb 2.0.18 is built with Qt5.2.1

2.0.19+ is stated to require Qt5.4.2, but it can be built against older versions with a little change.

I think for linux we need to look at supporting a PPA
