Hi All.
Atlas Dynamics is proud to announce the launch of its first consumer drone, made in cooperation with Yi-technology. Our unique tricopter design and full carbon fiber hull create a new standard for quality and performance in the consumer drone space. We have reached a 40 min of flight time and have made some new features like Virtual Stick and one hand control.

Our App will be available for IPhone and Android devices. In the future we plan to release free app for IPhone and Android, so all APM users will be able to enjoy new features.
Also we have plan to release SDK for IPhone and Android platform, so everybody can make their own GCS apps easily.
We are going to make efforts to support all APM community and provide new software and hardware solutions.

  • @Rob  -- there is not such a big selection of professional platforms in this size range TBH. It is lighter than a Phantom I think. The consumer side of things looks like a real race to the bottom in pricing.  In any event it is just great to see an interesting design maybe coming to market that is supporting Ardupilot.

  • +1 Rob on less stability, legs will show more in camera view also.

I guess it can land on a smaller landing pad.

Looks like it might be easy to redesign to permit either or both to inside or outside.

Maybe even just rotate mount 180 degrees and lock.

    Just a thought.

    Best Regards,

    Gary

  • Looks nice, but, why to the landing legs slant inward?  I'd think this would make them less stable than they could be>?

  • Here is our Pro version of Erida. The difference: bigger battery , two gps modules and thermal camera. We working on ground station for this version.

  • In our first prototype version we use only 2-axis gimbal. In final version we made 3 axis gimbal with encoders . Also we made very easy to change the gimbal, and we made all parts easy to fix and you can change and update everything. Maybe for some user its will be black box, but the professional users can use the base for they own needs.
About the GPS, gps module location in plastic cover box , and we made special reflector to improve the signal. And we use active gps antenna .

  • Marc, I don't think the professional market is necessarily better.  If all you have is a basic quadcopter with a camera on it, there is just as much competition in that space, and corresponding race to the bottom on pricing.

Having a lidar rangefinder is at least a distinguishing feature.

  • @Ivan, this is only a 2-axis gimbal, right?

I think it would be cool if it instead would have a sort of mounting area for attaching whatever one wants, and if it would be offered/sold without that gimbal, at a correspondingly lower price

isn't it a problem that the GPS is below carbon level for a significant solid angle range?

  • Ivan, I think the professional market may actually be better than the consumer market. It is almost impossible to compete with DJI and the something like a Phantom 4 (and others)-- although you do seem to have terrain following lidar so maybe it is better for action selfies. There is a growing market for light duty commercial drones though. You can do almost nothing to physically customize a Phantom 4 if the DJI SDK does not work for you. You seem to have a very nicely engineered package with Arducopter innards and a customizable app. Good luck.

  • We work on computer vision and obstacle avoidance. It will be available in next version .We also working on Atlas Pro version .Its special version for industrial uses and carry special termo cameras like FLIR and others.
