Had a very pleasant afternoon picnicking and an Atto flight in the Kamberg, take off at 6500' on a hot day.The flying wing goes a little quicker in the thin air!Deep joy.
Outside my door is the madness of Luanda! Once out of town though it's a stunning place. After 15 years in Nigeria it's great to be able to drive long distance without worrying about armed robbers! Hopefully, I can post some pictures soon...
It was the perfect day for it, I have the sunburn to prove it, bit of swimming in a Berg trout stream all good. Not so nice today, cold front up from the Cape and windy, in fact every flight has been in the wind, at least 15 knots of it. Very lucky here Mike, I have a field just out my door in which to fly I'm looking out the window at it now and two reserves that I can use. The reserves are high up though and full of rocks, bring on the EPP ;-) There was not a single rock free area yesterday, so the road becomes the softest place around.
Nice and green there Gary. I wish you could roam the bush so freely in Angola but I like my legs! I think I have found a mine free place to fly to the north of Luanda so might start testing there soon...
He was working at Plessey's and he was having trouble with a prototype oscilloscope when his boss Douglas Jones, a Welshman resplendent in Harris Tweed Plus Fours and a 'Tiger Tim' lapel badge, came by to see whether he'd got it sorted. "Any joy?" he'd ask. "No joy," Stanley replied.
When Stanley finally did manage to fix it, up came Douglas again:
"Any joy, Stanley?"
"Joy!" he announced.
"Deep joy!" his boss replied.
And so a defining phrase was born and Stanley gratefully took it on board.
