Hello Diy Drones Universe,

CAD Drones is going to be the hottest Open Source Community for CAD and Drones since Diy Drones and sUAS News!  This is why I am inviting 7 more individuals to join the list of 10 total sponsors of the open source CAD and Drone community.  These 10 individuals can represent themselves or any company they own or are associated with. Here's your chance to be a large part of something that is going to end up changing the Commercial Drone Industry!  This will be great for your companies or website to be supporting an Open Source Initiative.

You can contact me by email if you're serious about becoming a sponsor.

How will it change the commercial Drone Industry? What will be great for companies/websites by supporting this open Source initiative?

It's going to change the commercial and Drone Industry because we are working with 3D Printing Companies to bring a low cost open source 3D Printer to the community.  This will change the Drone Industry because over the next 1-2 years their is going to a large shift from buying Autonomous vehicles and fitting them with hardware to Choosing Hardware and designing your own vehicles around the needed layout for the hardware.  In the hobby market this same principle will apply once the technology becomes easier to use and own.

As far as what benefits will come from supporting this Open Source Initiative:

  1. Companies who are a supporter will be the ones who decided on the direction of the website and its development.
  2. Sponsors will get 8% of merchandise sales once we start selling CAD Drones Merchandise to build payed moderator, admin, and Web Dev positions on the site.
  3. Sponsors get their own page/drop down tab to do whatever they want with (Display their companies products, news, etc)
  4. In 6-12 Months when merchandise (CAD Drones Packpack, clothes, Jump Drives, etc) is being designed the current 10 sponsors can have a website or company name displayed on the product in an area of the product designated CAD Drones Sponsors.
  5. Sponsors can suggest and vote on new sponsor privileges if someone presents a good idea.

How does your business plan ensure the site can compete with file sharing sites like Thingverse, or more commercial sales sites like shapeways?

Also, this sounds a bit like a kickstarter style sponsor drive, but without a product.

@Richard,  When it comes to development and business plans nothing is ever a guaranteed success... But I am very confident that with the current Drone and 3D Printers companies who are on board with the site that we will be a competitive site because we are focusing 100% of our efforts on 3D Printing for Drones and also we are working on getting a low cost open source 3D Printer in the hands of consumers and hobbyists!

@Richard, It is somewhat in the format of how a kickstarter drive is set up but I am looking to create a much more close nit group that will work together to move CAD Drones forward.  We will be utilizing group video chats for meetings among sponsors each month.

Perhaps I sounded negative, actually I find your plans quite interesting.

@Richard,  I don't take your comments/Questions as sounding negative at all pal! :)  I'm actually really glad you asked those questions because I'm sure others had the exact same questions about my plan.  Do you have any feedback, ideas, or suggestions that will help me moving forward with CAD Drones?

Their are currently now only 6 sponsorship spots left.  We have another submission and have added another company and member to the Sponsorship group.

@Joshua, would love to be your sponsor but you'd have to wait that my future venture  edroneservices.com opens...
