CamMan, a special camera controller

Here is the new member of our growing family of modules for our scalable ground control system. Sorry for the low quality photos, but we hardly ever have time to take decent pictures before the gear leaves the workshop. You can see the other modules at http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/a-handy-kit-to-control-apm-pixhawk-vehicle-systems.

The CamMan is based on our FPV controller of the same format, so it also has the transflective 10" panel installed. Because cameraship operators usually work with two or three person ground crews, many of our customers were asking for a special separate camera remote with industry standard controls. These now include the 3-axis joystick, follow focus, iris and axial/zoom speed controls on top of the usual shutter and video start/stop functions.

  • It depends on the technical content, but I guess for most cameraship applications it would be around 3k bucks, so it's not exactly for the hobbyist. We currently install 2G4 or LR UHF RC and 5G8 AV in most of them, but people are also interested in wireless trainer type setups. Even though the framework is now standard for us, all of them are somewhat custom builds, if for nothing else, the exact control layout is always a bit different. See more of us at www.horus.hu.
