I finally got around to writing a review for this little drone I've had for a few months now. I bought it for about $17 and it still seems to be flying even after it got slightly chewed by my dog (pictures taken before that happened!). It's a pretty cool drone.. and pretty safe to fly too. I can't envision much going wrong unless if you lack common sense and fly it into a group of people/ animals. It's great for learning the ropes for any new flyers - Cheerson drone review.

We purchased 8 for christmas for all the kids in the family. They were all fantastic, with the exception of one which was broke out of the box (motor issue).
All the kids can fly them well from age 9-25.
Thingaverse has many things we can 3d printed for them from tiny cases to print to prop guards.
It crashes over and over with hard to break props, really don't need guards.
We have had tons of fun with ours, compared to my airhogs that don't last 3 days in our house, 6 of the 8 of the CX-10s are still flying,
I also have one, bought for my son obviously..... Its great
I have managed to break 4 of them, but have also abused them more than most. They are caught and chewed about 3-4 times per flight! Not only that, but two of them have ended up in water several times each (power on), one time over 2 minutes submerged. Let it dry off for a day, and it works like new! Absolutely amazing toys for the cost!
That's actually a good idea, to include one of these toys with every 'proper' size quadcopter. I've also been recommending to people to either start with one of these small ones or with a much cheaper quadcopter before flying off a drone worth $500+. I feel that it wouldn't be hard for DJI to come up with their own miniature size quadcopter, but then the profits from those would be less (unless if it's going to entice more people to upgrade later on!).
Do you think it would be worthwhile bundling one of these with every Phantom, Iris, Solo etc? Most people I experience seem happy to jump straight in with their $1000 device.... Then immediately cry foul when it disappears over the horizon (assume user error for the sake of my thought). For the past year, before building a quad for someone, I have been asking a) have you ever flown a RC vehicle before, and if answer is 'no' b) Get a small toy quad like a hubsan x4/wltoys v212/cheerson cx10 and fly it inside around your house until you're flying it like a pro. I wonder if 3DR & DJI feel interested in this idea. Surely they'll have discussed it in meetings.
I have few of these lying (and flying) around. They are great little toys, and I would love to test them out with some sort of computer vision and control system. I think the protocol for these was hacked, and that someone built an Arduino based interface for smartphone control, which could also be used with a computer in theory. Also the bright colors these come in should be easy for a computer to pick out. They are small enough I could safely test them in my house.
