  • Thanks Chris, I was just hoping to find one with the rc system all wired up so I could look at it before buying a more expensive system. As for the phantom I will look into that.

    Robert,

If all you want is to learn RC with a ready to fly plane, I'd go for something easier to fly like a HobbyZone phantom. But if you want to build a UAV, I'm afraid that you're going to have to start getting your hands dirty, learning to solder, program, etc. This is DIY Drones, after all! There are no off-the-shelf UAVs that don't cost many thousands of dollars.
  • I was looking at it because it has a pre-wired ready to go set up. And I like the fact that the ducted fan takes little room. Also the motor/esc/battery pack has already been matched by someone who knows more about this than me. My problem with the fun jet and easy star is that you have do buy all of the parts seperately and wire them together when I don't even have a sodering iron which I would have to get which costs more money not to mention I might ruin something.

The funjet looks cool though maybe I could get it if i could learn to solder. I don't neccesarly need 'that kind of plane' I just need some power 'ready to go'. If you or any one else knows of a better rtf plane please let me know thanks.

I'd worry about how much internal room it has for electronics. If you want that kind of plane, why not just get a Funjet, which has a lot of room and is practically optimized for UAV use? (it's the one used by the Paparazzi team)
  • Btw does anyone have experience with this plane?
  • sorry about the links they won't post right from my computer so I just posted the url for the ones that wouldn't work
