DIY Drones at 56,000 members!

3689609594?profile=originalIt's customary and traditional that we celebrate the addition of every 1,000 new members here and share the traffic stats. This time it's 56,000!!!!

There were approximately 1.8 million page views in the last month! (we now get around 60,000 page views a day on average). It took us just 25 days to add these latest 1,000 members--we're averaging one new member every 36 minutes!

Thanks as always to all the community members who make this growth possible, and especially to the administrators and moderators who approve new members, blog posts and otherwise respond to questions and keep the website running smoothly.

Regards,

  • Congratulations!

I'm curious how many of the 56,000 have actually logged on in the last 3 months. While the number registered may be 56,000, and what the media ends up using in their reports like they did when they outed people for not commenting on the FAA issue, the actual number of users would be a better indicator of how active the community really is.

  • Nice job..shows how fast the industry is growing....

I've updated the post with stats that should be a bit clearer. They also represent the most recent month, rather than the average over the past two years.

Wow, look at that. 11,000 more members and people are predominately using iOS devices twice as much as Android devices to access the site http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/diy-drones-at-45-000-members

And it looks like nobody uses Windows any more (At 50,000 it was 9.9million)

(I think something is up with the reporting for windows/macintosh ;) )

  • Still strange that there is presumably 64% of traffic from iOS (which is probably wrong) but only 16% safari, huh.

  • Gerard - The data above is captured from google analytics statistic tables. They are not complete tables, just top ten lists. That is why the percentages and numbers will not add up.
  • Congratulations!  How do you read the operating system table or does that only include mobile OS's?  The totals do not add up at all.
