DIY Drones has reached the 50,000 Members Mark!!!!

It's customary and traditional that we celebrate the addition of every 1,000 new members here and share the traffic stats. This time we have a really special occasion to celebrate as we have reached the 50,000 member mark!!!!

Congratulations to Cantor Wargfn, of Charlotte, North Carolina USA, who became our 50,000th member!!!

There were approximately 2 million page views in the last month! (we now get around 67,000 page views a day average). It took us just 22 days to add these latest 1,000 members--we're averaging one new member every 32 minutes!

Thanks as always to all the community members who make this growth possible, and especially to the administrators and moderators who approve new members, blog posts and otherwise respond to questions and keep the website running smoothly.

Regards,

TCIII Admin

Now we can start on the next 50,000 members and continue to be a true powerhouse among the leaders of the hobby UAV community.

Hi Chris,

The Team greatly appreciates your kudos and acknowledgement of their hard work that has made DIY Drones the preeminent hobby UAV entity that it is today. Though without your vision and leadership, that laid the foundations for DIY Drones, we all would not be at this place in time today!!

Regards,

The Admins and Moderators

Congrats Mr Wargfn for being the 50,000th member.  Somewhat like walking into a bar and everyone yelling surprise. (:

Btw, we would also like to thank all the users (power and lurking) for making the site what is.  It's your content, ideas and words that make more than half the users returning users and fun to be involved with this site.

Looking at the numbers above.

* The top ten countries generate represent over 65% of total site traffic between them, and near as makes no difference 10million visits.

* Australia, Canada and the Netherlands are punching well above their weight.

* This community, or simply this hobby/pursuit/profession, seems particularly good at attracting Aussies.  In fact, participation in this community (judged on a per capita basis) is more than twice in Australia than it is in diydrones.com's native country.  I think this pretty much proves diydrones.com is well and truly an international community.

I also find it particularly interesting that only 4 of the top 10 countries have english as their first language.
