DIY Drones Take on Silicon Valley

Amateur drone makers are sending their do-it-yourself creations up into the skies of Silicon Valley. WSJ's Andy Jordan reports from San Francisco on the stunning footage they're capturing.

    I noticed quite a large overhang on your prop mountings, I thought I saw a few vibrations at one point. Any aerodynamic vibration can get magnified into an eccentric movement. Those motor arms must be very stiff.

    Nice vid. and flying. Is that a GoPro fixed mounted?

  • Jason, awesome video! You're a good pilot! Which mode do you usually fly, Simple or just Stabilize?

  • When i first saw this video , i thought you must be using FPV, as it was so good, and you seem to travel further than line of sight. So i must congratulate you on having such good flying skills, as i constently loose my quad once it gets further than a few hundred feet. :-)
