Drones to help track US border in summer

On a visit to El Paso this weekend, I noticed this article on front page of the El Paso Times concerning US border drone use.

One interesting tid bit, "Perez said the Department of Homeland Security and members of Congress have been frustrated with the FAA because it has been slow in approving the department's request for the drones." Sound familiar?

Looks like FAA approved a COA with a little prodding by Texas congressman Henry Cuellar foot. See this post
  • Since open borders are a Federal mandate and not a concern of theirs it makes you wonder what they really want the predator on the border for.

@Rory, even if the narco traffickers did use UAV's to transport drugs north of the border I don't think it'd be trouble for us cause the Coke Importation Association will just cover it up.

Just wait till the narco traffickers use one to land drugs north of the border then we are all up the creek...
