+1000 for this guy. This is a textbook example of how to learn to fly.
Expensive equipment and relying on auto magic, does not in any way translate to crash proof. Learning to fly (and crash) on small and cheap copters will save you a lot of money, and be safer in the process.
And most importantly. If you can't afford to crash it, you can't afford to fly it.
