GoPro just announced its new camera, the Hero3+. I am really interested to see how much smaller it really is than the hero3. Longer battery, sharper lens, smaller, 720p at 120fps sounds really good to me. The buttons on the enclosure seem bigger, I hope so, the old ones were a pain to press. Anyone getting one?
Edit:
Here is the video, now gopro has made me want to play with lions.
I found this picture for size comparison:

Thanks - I saw those but wasn't sure. How lucky that I just signed up for Amazon Prime.
Pick up some of these.

I plan on picking some up once I get my H3B+ focus issues worked out with GoPro.
Anyone have any suggestions on sources for aftermarket batteries and memory cards? I've been doing some looking around and see a few high capacity batteries but I would assume they would also have extra weight.
Thanks,
Fred
Oh, you might pay the $40 for the Best Buy protection plan for a year too. If ANYTHING happens to it other than losing it or having it stolen, they'll replace it for you. Water, broken lens from a crash, etc. and the camera is covered.
Thanks - just what I need to know.
Fred
Best Buy has the Hero 3 Black for $299. For $70 more, it's a much better camera with so many more options for recording. The Silver is basically the Hero 2 with WiFi integrated in a smaller camera.
Costco is selling the GoPro3 Silver for 229. Since I'm only getting started with a camera on my quad do you think the silver is good enough? Or should I hold out for the 3 Black or the 3+? The different video modes in the Black are very tempting but I'm not sure they are necessary.
Thanks,
Fred
Now that is one fine video.
Hi Robert the HDR-CX430V/B - HD is only $569.00 at 42nd Street and has BOSS and it only weighs 11 ounces.
The only problem I see is that the only remote it seems to be set up for is WiFi, even the USB doesn't seem to have control functions.
It does seem to be compatible with their wired remote control which would let you control zoom and recording.
The only thing is, the more I test with the Nex5, the more I realize that while it does "nice" video, my XR500V Handicam (which is already about 6 years old!) still does nicer video. I would love to get a new BOSS Sony.
I think the camcorders have autofocus that works better for video, as well as better image stabilization for video. Probably not very surprising considering that's what they were made for.
