Help wanted for top secret project

DIYdrones hardware development team needs some help, if you think you can contribute in something please PM, our requirements are:

-Any microcontroller capable to handle a little web server can be used.

-The hardware must have WiFi access (behave as an access point).

-The hardware must have SD card slot (where you can store html files).

-Must be cheap (< $100).

 

The system must be capable to read a HTML file stored on the SD card (including pictures) and create a web server accessible via WiFi (acting as an access point). When the user is connected to the Wifi device-must type any direction like "http://192.168.1.100" and be able to load the HTML files stored on the SD. Something similar to a home router.

 

The HTML files must be able to read/write to the IO, analog and UART pins of the same microcontroller....

 

What we need from you are suggestions of the right hardware, software contributions and connections to anybody capable to help us.

    Well I guess I have not completely understood the.

    A modified version of the dd-wrt.com on a Asus WL500GU should do... but maybe the hardware is not opensource?

    Michael,

    You are right but by adding an expansion board you will be able to have a full hdmi, usb, serial, cam interface.

    @jean they start at $129 with no baseboard, no SD and no wifi ... how is this relevant?

    Finally found what I was searching for yesterday... here are several examples of wireless HD. The only limitation I can see is LOS distance. Which by all means should be quite capable of being extended further given the frequency.

    @Richard the standard WiFly firmware has the same issue.  I have one sitting in a box here for just that reason.

    @Michael, not sure you got what I was saying... all I was trying to get at was, hd video is coming; just not fast enough for us. for example look up Freefall video compression. they are claiming theyve got hd down to <1mpbs. which should ride 802.11a just fine... so dont take my previous posts too literaly. I too want more than 500 tv lines coming accross the airwaves :)

    @Richard Read the spec again.

    The W5100 is not a wifi device.  The W610 module firmware doesn't provide the necessaries required to run HTTP out of the box (read the documentation, not just the webpage).

    @darren please, I was installing Terabeam units back in the '90s.  

    However, please explain to me how this SONAbeam unit, weighing over 10kg, consuming tens of watts and being a completely directional device is at all applicable to this conversation or our hobby?
