Yep Rana, looks like it, lets see if we can try it DIY style. :)
  • We have decided to make one but not immediately. Iska lift itna zabardast hai ki agar aap plane ki siraf tail pakad kar rakhen aur full throtel karden to plane apne aap upar uthna challu ho Jayega aur phir tail chhod dijiye to ho sakta hai aage nikal pade upar hi upar....:D

I am sure you have become( gr8 fan) of fan wing now ;), I have been looking at this for few years now and still wonder , I am aware of the physics principles behind it but still looks amazing. The model above(your last post) is one of his earliest.
  • Morli, Fanwing plane is an extreem implimentation of Burnolis Principle which states that P1V1=P2V2, means where the Air velocity is high (In this case upperside of the barrel wing means fanwing, where the air travels larger distance covering the upper cuvature, of the barrel wing), the air pressure is very low and as a result pressure lower the barrel wing becomes very high (much much larger than the pressure developed under the wing of an conventional plane), gives such a great uplift to the barrel wing / Fanwing that it takes only few meters to take off the.

Here is the Simulator video of Fanwing plane for X-Plane Flight Simulator.
Morli, I have become great fan of Fanwing !

Is that one of your work birds Adrian??

You guys may be interested to know that the Swift hang glider shown in that video was designed by Steve Morris, who now runs the UAV company MLB, which makes the Bat and V-Bat UAVs.

  • I'm quite familiar with fanwing and it really flies much better than you would think. The payload capability and efficiency figures compare favourably with helicopters too. Pat, the developer has bee at it a very long time and is a super chap.

Rana , the swift glider in the video is one of the best but most expensive hang glider too ;)

Ric, that is a interesting link. Didn't know there was another implementation of fanwing which I have been following for last few years.. Flettner's inter meshing rotor heli has been subject one of my favoriteFuture project
