Sort of sucks for Gamera, but like John Carmack losing the lunar challenge, that's the price of giving out all your techniques. Gamera was uploading a lot of videos 2 years ago & heavily promoted on Gizmodo, while Atlas was mostly secret. Only 1 team gets the prize.
We thought about controlling it with an APM but we weren't allowed even a tiny battery to run servos & computers... generators were too heavy. The control system ended up being real intuitive - lean left, go left. Todd's weight was enough to deflect the structure and we were able to vector thrust to get around.
