Impressive new camera gimbal

I'm a big fan and supporter of open source multirotors but this is just too impressive to pass. Too bad it is super expensive and out of reach for most hobbyists. Just wanted to share this with the community and see what they have to say about the the frame, gimbal and about DJI in general.

  • landing gear will also be challenge..personaly i do not like idea of landing legs being attached to delicate and fragile gimbal...cinestar again have nice solution only 3 legs...another direction is droidworx retractable landing gear very high price too

  • Ready to fly

  • Brushless DC Motor not stteper,my mistake....i think this one is used in Hero gimbal http://maxonmotorusa.blogspot.com/2011/09/maxons-ec-45-flat-70-watt...

  • Also nowdays you want to have stteper motors like in CNC,and be able to control them,as I mentioned before new Droidworks Hero gimbals are great example, also it seems AV200 is also upgreaded with them

  • Great idea but we should came up with some new ideas not just copy something......It is very easy to make Cinestar gimbal  3692428802?profile=original

  • @Cristian Carlsson  I second that! We should definitely have a community developed gimbal that we can call our own.. I have access here to a pretty badass laser cutter which cuts metal upto an inch thick and the service is dirt cheap (1 minute machine time = 0.25$).. we could develop one like the photohigher gimbal from aluminum sheet metal .. I'm also comfortable with sheet metal modelling and 3d design for manufacturing on Autodesk Inventor.. i'm sure we can pop out a design in a few weeks and have a prototype ready in a month or two given there is sufficient community interest.. cause if you ask me.. i would never buy a 1k gimbal that I could build myself for $100...
