Incredible ArduCopter videos

Testflights Acro Mode ArduPirates Quad from Norf on Vimeo.

The ArduPirates team, who have taken over development of the 1st Generation ArduCopter code, have been posting amazing videos of the ArduCopter platform doing stunts and otherwise showing remarkable range in this Vimeo channel.  Norf, who is world-class quad pilot, is doing acrobatics in acro mode above.

How about an awesome smooth APM-driven hexicopter?

  • Any info on how tight the GPS hold is with alt. and sonar?
  • Yes on the Hexa i use the KDA 20-22L with Maxxprod 10x45

I think it is no imressing flying in the video because i don´t tuned PID settings.

There is much more possible with the quad and Hexa with tuning the PID values.

Stabel Mode and Acro Mode could be better and i will tune my settings after i have managed my exams in 2 weeks.

    More to come!!

  • Yep, we have some incredible pilots among the Ardupirates!

Norbert aka Norf is using hackerstyle KDA 20-22L Motors for his Hexa.
See more info in his blog: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/member.php?u=164707

Markus aka warthox is also an unbelievable skilled pilot. I think he's the world record holder of flips: 41 flips on 1 desent! You can only count them while watching the onboard cam in slomo: http://warthox.bplaced.net/

I wish I only had a small portion of their skills!

  • I don't understand how he can know what the orientation is of the copter when flying that fast and far away. Extremely impressed
  • Does anyone have an idea what motor's he is using on the stable hexcoptor, I can see there Turnigy motors but I'm wondering what model they are. I can't seem to find any more info on the internet about it.

Gees how do you fly like that so accurately, I can barely see the quad, let alone its orientation etc.
