The inside of the enclosure is lined with ESD safe open cell foam to ensure the barometric pressure sensor is surrounded by static air and prevent unwanted readings due to airflow over the sensor. Our initial testing still shows the uBlox giving slightly better results. We'll try to do proper head-to-head comparisons with data over the next couple weeks, but at the moment we're comfortable recommending either.
I too would like to see a comparison of the new Mediatek vs the old and the uBlox

For portability, couldn't you just buy a couple of extra cases and double tape the bottoms to various vehicles and then move the board and top around or is the board taped into the case? Just a thought for moving it around. The screws to hold it together are on top so it should be fairly easy to move around if you get a few cases.
Rubber damper washers? What are these? Same as I'm using?
The only thing I would have done better on the new case is a bit more height to allow the dampening rubber washers to be less compressed when you close the case. Not sure how much they still absorb at the moment as you really need to compress them all the way to make sure the case closed properly. Looks like the rubber washers are an after-taught... (or not if they work as supposed when super compressed)
2mm more height would have make me happier! :)
And maybe as Robert indicated, an option to have a bottom screw to the frame (but 90% of the people use double side tape so not a big deal) Again hard mounted induce more vibration, double layer or 3M thick double side tape is great (but a pain to remove when you want to take it to another frame) Still room for improvement on the mount. Maybe a super duper quick disconnect for next version (I call it first! hehe)

How can I change my order to the new lower priced one? I got basically the same thing but was $275.
I think this question was asked earlier but I couldn't find a response. Which GPS option is the best? Mediatek or Ublox?
Jerry, I have heard that Digikey is like that, but I haven't had the pleasure of ordering there yet. It sounds like they are like McMaster-Carr. I have ordered as late at 5:30PM, and had the product at my desk before noon the next day, and for an astoundingly low price. Typically on the order of $11 to ship a few pounds of stuff across the border overnight. I can't even overnight a letter across the city for that price. I really don't know how they do it.
