We're delighted to announce the new APM 2.5+, which is the same APM 2.5 board you know and love but surrounded by lots of new goodness! Now, for a new lower price of $179, it comes with all this, right out of the box:
- The new APM 2.5 enclosure, available in both top pin (above) and side pin (right) styles. It's designed to keep your electronics safe while looking great at the same time! The enclosure is made of black translucent ABS plastic so you can see the board's LEDs. It protects your electronics while allowing access to all pins and connectors. The inside of the enclosure is lined with ESD safe open cell foam to ensure the barometric pressure sensor is surrounded by static air and prevent unwanted readings due to airflow over the sensor. And the screws that secure the enclosure have been moved to the top for ease of use. It's also available as a stand-alone product for $4.99. (customers who already have an APM 2.5 are eligible for a coupon code to get a free enclosure with their next order. Email sales@3drobotics.com if you don't already have one)
- The new APM Power Module, available with either XT60 (shown) or Deans connectors. It's a simple way of providing your APM 2.5 with clean power from a LiPo battery as well as monitoring current consumption and battery voltage measurements, all through a 6-pos cable that plugs in neatly. The board is also shrink-wrapped to protect it (the bare board is shown here so you can see the innards). Been wondering what that "mystery connector" was on APM 2.5? Now you know! This will ensure that you have no brown-outs due to insufficient BEC power from your ESCs, and makes current and voltage monitoring easy! It's also available as a stand-alone product for $24.99
- Our new Version 2 of the Mediatek GPS module. This takes all the learning we've had with the Mediatek over the past two years and wraps it up in one vastly improved product. New big ground plane antenna to improve reception! On-board battery for fast lock! New firmware for better performance and datalogging! Also available as a stand-alone product for $37.95.
Oh, and did I mention that we also lowered the price of APM 2.5 by $20 at the same time?? This is all thanks to our new production facilities in Tijuana, which allow us to make an increased volume of products at higher quality and lower prices. We're even adding a new Manncorp four-head pick-and-place machine there to handle even higher volume!

I got a message from Carlos a couple of hours ago saying that they sent me the ublox but when I go to the site and see the order tracking page, it doesn't say anything about ublox. It only lists a power module and small cable. I will PM you the details now.
@Chris,
Nice support Chris!!! Glad to see your kind of response in relation to other suppliers!

F11. Sorry to hear that. If you can PM me the name you used in your correspondence, I can go into the ticketing systems and investigate what happened,
Drone Savant: It's not being inside the plastic case that degrades GPS, it's the other consequences of being integrated into that small space: smaller ground plane and electrical noise from the other components.
This is more of an issue with copters, which need really fine-grained GPS data, than it is for planes. So you should be okay with the Bixler. But if you want to get better performance, disable the on-board GPS and mount one outside the canopy.
Chris,
I'm having some problems communicating with the store so I thought I would post here. I've only had EXCELLENT service from 3DRobotics for the past 2 years but it seems they are swamped with emails.
Anyway, I ordered the APM2.5 a day before black friday and noticed the new power adapter so I got that also. I also chose the ublox.
Then I saw the blackfriday sale and price drop and includes of case and power adapter. I then sent an email to sales@3drobotics.com to have the order adjusted and got a reply from Yvett giving a $95 credit. All seemed ok so I waited for the shipment. Once it was sent, I noticed on the invoice that it didn't mention the ublox GPS. It looked like they shipped me the standard one. What I had on my original order was an unassembled APM2.5, ublox and power module.
So then I sent a few emails and got some auto replies from Carlos Toris but he never seemed to understand what the mixup was or never commented about it. Next thing I notice is a shipping notice for just a power module and DF13 6 Position connector. Order number 36506. But I never placed this order and it looks like someone misunderstood my problem.
My last few emails to Carlos yesterday only kept getting a reply asking me to confirm my shipping address (since I have several on file). My issue of the wrong gps etc was never commented on so I'm getting the impression that they are not understanding the problem or most likely are inundated with emails and not seeing my replies.
Jhon: the performance of the GPS is too degraded if it's integrated on the board inside the case. We've decided to put performance first.
the gps is exteral now then?
no way to have it packet inside the enclosure to have a compact solution?
Sam,
Is it correct then, that the servos are the only thing powered by the ESC/BEC?
Joel, Chris, just to make a correction: the RC receiver is always powered by what is powering the APM, be it USB, an ESC, or the power module.
