IRIS Search & Rescue Test

See if you can find the simulated missing person (12" Orange Frisbee) as we fly an autonomous mission around a local pond.  Mission starts at about the 30 sec mark. Make sure to watch in HD full screen

  • According to my own experience, I think, such rescue missions require the camera rotate 90 degrees, to be able to check what is going underneath. Otherwise the 16:9 ratio is more bothering than useful.

  • The question is outside the context of a search & rescue but in the context of a planned mission : is it possible for Mission Planner to give an estimate of the duration of a predefined mission based on number of waypoints, delays at waypoints and total distance to be flown ? I'm asking the question as if knowing for instance that your IRIS would not fly more than 8 minutes with gimbal & camera attached (as an example), it would be great to have MP give you a warning if you define a mission that would take at least 12 minutes to be executed.... Does anyone know ?
