Am I the only person that is pretty hacked off that people use kmh to describe speed and not knots and meters for altitude rather than feet.It will cause rants, but Aviation Authorities around the world are already asking ground stations to be in the correct units.
Being an 'old' guy, I can't wrap my brain around metric, so I changed the program to report feet,miles/hr. Not hard to do, and heck, I am too busy to report anything to anybody !

Using nautical miles and nautical miles/hour actually make sense as the math works out well when doing great circle navigation. I think that the U.S. government officially uses the metric system, at least the U.S. military surely does. As far as jamming the metric system down the population's throat...well I think we have bigger problems right now :)
I think it demonstrates the disconnect between RC autopilot developers and aviation though.
Also as a grumpy old man, I just can't get my head around kmh when thinking about flying when somebody says its flying at 40 knots, I know exactly what that looks like.
Think of thios conversation to ATC hi, yeah we are 6 miles to the north and will be operating upto 400, ATC says oh great no dramas.
You meant meters he thought you meant feet because thousands of licenced pilots already use that format.
I wonder what units the predator guys use.
I'm an old bore, But worth thinking about getting your head around real units not laptop units.
SI units are the way to go... The only countries (according to wikipedia) that haven't partially at least, adapted SI are Liberia, Myanmar and the United States.
An interesting note- I was just reading through Jordi's navigation Ardupilot code relating to the distance between waypoints:
unsigned int get_gps_dist(float flat1, float flon1, float flat2, float flon2)
{
float x = 69.1 * (flat2 - flat1);
float y = 69.1 * (flon2 - flon1) * cos(flat1/57.3);

return (float)sqrt((float)(x*x) + (float)(y*y))*1609.344;
The "*1609.344" is converting from metres to miles however the Config utility and GCS display altitude in meters!?
Using English units results in this.
