Yep, it's a pretty unique set up! I had a craft custom built for me to fly the three camera payload late last year (see https://youtu.be/0yvtPvlFkHE and there's a couple of other videos on my YT channel too). But I've just had it upgraded to the Aeronavics Icon and am waiting for it to return at the end of the month. We've done some initial testing on the craft itself but haven't flown the payload yet (it's massive, see below. It's held by a 6'6 colleague). MTOW 35kg. My work is mostly publicly funded research so I make all data and results available when I can. It's a while away yet though to be honest. This is a whole new area and so much more complex than the Solo with GoPro / FLIR Vue Pro combo.
RE the blue mission - it's a multi. It took four to cover the bay.
BTW, did you know that Marilyn Munroe was a drone engineer in WW2? Hello female, indeed! :)
Wait, you have a hyperspectral camera and a Tau and an a7R? That's awesomely good stuff to have, please I'd really like it if you made some samples videos available for us to view (doesn't have to be airbourne with the multispec, just would like to see what and how it captures :)
The Blue Gopro mission. is it just a single mission or multi? Looks fairly lengthy.

So the total area that we covered is shown in this pic below. There are a couple of snorkel transects in there too (red) (we do habitat mapping) and some are just using the GoPro (blue). If you go to 'Orpheus Island' on Google Earth / Maps, you'll see this area - Pioneer Bay - towards the northern end. The buildings you can see belong to the James Cook Uni research station (I'm spoilt, yes!)
I have the Tau A65 too, but at 200g without a computer or on-board recording, it's really too big for the Solo. Also it cost me $20K, so I'm not keen on flying that much money on this platform. I reserve that for flight with my Nanohyperspec and Sony a7R on my heavy lift... The only other reason for the Vue rather than anything else is that the Aussie distributor could loan it to me and it really was plug and play so perfect for this application.

Also, can I ask why you chose the Vue over the Tau if you're not connecting it for feed or control to the PH2?

Mariospeedwagon - We have a first cut at a mosaic and to be honest it was better than expected. Some more work to do to get it right though. We are using both Pix4D and Photoscan - so far it looks like the latter is doing a better job for this type of data at the moment, but it's early days. The area is a pretty small bay so I have some land in a lot of the images and this helps. We also put GCPs out on the reef flat.
I'm assuming they're going to tile the individual images with the GPS data, but not mosaic/stitch them? I was just wondering a few days ago if it would be possible to make a map of still water with LWIR?
And @benbojangles....I'm sure it would have happened a few decades ago if drones were around then. ;)
