My Attempt at a BoxCopter

Inspired by Jake Wells and his BoxCopter, I decided to try my hand at making a BoxCopter of my own. I found a suitable plastic container at Target and used some 1/2" square lengths of wood from Lowe's for the arms.

I took it out for a few test flights and after I got the hang of flying it I put a GoPro on top of it and took it out for a spin to get some aerial video.

My piloting and video editing skills are definitely amateur...

  • Thanks for posting this. I just ordered the materials from your BOM. You made this project easy (hoping). This will be my first project.

  • Thank you for sharing your experience!

All you have to do is get a little better each time you fly and make a movie.

    Fly and video on!
